Our Disney vacation

We finally went back to Disney World this summer. We went in 2004 when Brik was 6 and had a great time. I have been waiting since then to choose the perfect time to go back. We had Jaxon in 2005 so we had to wait a while. I know lots of people take really little ones to Disney World and still have a great time but we decided to wait. I'm glad we did. We had a wonderful trip and Jaxon was able to ride almost everything. He even rode Tower of Terror! When his little tush came off the seat as we dropped he decided that he did not want to ride that again. I wish we had the picture from the ride because both Charlie and I threw our arms across him when we dropped and we were both covering his face for the picture. I don't need the picture to remember the face he was making but I wish I had it to share. Brik of course rode everything. Oh, I take that back he flat refused to ride Dumbo. LOL. We went during Star Wars weekends and that was really fun. Brik, Charlie and Jaxon built their own lightsabers on the first day (you can do this at Once Upon a Toy at Downtown Disney) just in case we encountered any sith lords which of course we did! We stayed for 9 days this time and it was so nice to have that much time. We spent one whole day at the resort and I will always include a resort day in all of our future trips. We needed that day to really chill out! We threw some laundry in and spend several hours at the pool. The boys argued quite a bit when they got tired (which was expected)but other than those minor battles we really had a great time as a family. Oh I also celebrated my 40th birthday while we were there. If I could spend all of my birthdays at Disney World it would make getting older a lot more fun :). I want to thank my wonderful husband and my great boys for such a wonderful trip. I hope we have many more to come. I also have to thank my Mom, Dad, Dana & Jacque for taking the time & money to come with us for a few days and be there for my birthday. I would have loved for them to stay the whole time but I was very grateful for the few days we had with them. My birthday lunch was great. We ate at Le Chefs De France, I was at the happiest place on earth with lots of my loving family with me. It is a birthday I will always remember. Oh and Mom I really am sorry about soarin! I thought you would love it! We live and learn. and yes you did live through it. I wasnt sure if I was gonna live after we finally got you back on the ground but we both made it back to Texas safe and sound. Thats what counts right? I will post some pictures from the trip below.

I can't believe how fast the time is flying by. Brik is about to finish the 6th grade and Jaxon is 4 years old. I have two nieces in college and three in high school. Where does the time go? We have had a lot of fun so far in 2010. Here are some of the highlights: We had more snow this year than ever before in my lifetime! (Santa had to leave a trampoline in our backyard this year and it was covered by snow when the boys found it) My boys had a camp out in the trampoline. I have been incessantly planning our upcomming Disney World vacation. Brik played basketball and Jaxon played soccer from Jan to March. We are taking a much needed break from sports during the summer. Charlie and I still have some duties as board members for our peewee football organization, ABD, even when football is not going on. I know Charlie is already anxious for the season start. Jaxon will be playing flag football for the first time so it should be very exciting. Brik will be playing football for his Jr. High this season so he has officailly graduated from peewee. I have been reading a lot which I love and working out some too, which I like.

We took a family trip to Schlitterbahn this summer. We had a really fun time at the waterpark and lot's of fun bonding as a family. Here are some pictures of the trip.

I have not had time to post in a while. So sorry, but we have been very busy. I will have some new pictures up soon. quick update: Brik is playing baseball, our first game was scheduled for tonight 3/27, but we were rained out. Jaxon is doing very well in his water babies class at Emler swim school. More info and new pictures coming soon. Hope everyone is well. Kim

Jaxon's First Birthday

Jaxon had a great time at his party! Thank you to everyone who came and celebrated with us. He was on such a sugar high after the cake, ice cream & tea! He took a 15 min. nap after everyone left and then was up until 10:00 pm. I think he had a great time, I know I did. It is Wednesday and he is finally back on his regular routine. We had pictures done with both Jaxon and Brik on Friday, I will post those soon. We only have two regular season games left in football, the on to the playoffs. Brik is doing really well despite the injury causing tactics of the last team we played. He had a sore ankle for the last half of the game. He is much better now and ready to go for this Saturday. We play at Blue Raider again. Our game is at 10:00 am this week, apparently someone thought we were the flag team or something, I'm not sure how we ended up with such an early game. Anyone who wants to come please feel free, and bring some breakfast!

See that handsome #12? Yep, he's mine. Junior Blue is now 2-2. The boys are working hard and coaches are too. We are so busy that I have not had time to update. Jaxon's first birthday is coming up fast, I will have invitations out this week. Jenni will be getting her brace off soon. Jacque is doing well. We hope Candice will be coming home for the weekend soon. There was a court date today in relation to her case. Jury selection will be starting soon. More details to follow on that. Be strong Candice, we are all behind you. Grandma Joanne, Aunt Cindy Hogue, Whitney, Aunt Dana & Jenni came to Brik's homecoming game. Nana & Papa kept Jaxon in the car with the air conditioning until halftime because it was so hot. Then they walked with Brik and Joanne for homecoming. It was fun, but extremely hot. I think we were all glad to get home and shower! Nana & Papa bought Jaxon a Tikle Me Elmo Extreme 10 th anniversary edition. Don't worry, they did not have to fight for it. Although I think Mom would have bought more than one if she had known what a stir they would cause. Thanks Nana & Papa. Jaxon actually laughs at him now.

Oh my head hurts

Tylenol, Advil, Tylenol, Ice pack, more Advil. Obviously I have a bad headache today. Charlie's grandmother Troast passed away yesterday. Joanne is on her way to Chicago today for the funeral. She had been very sick for a long time and now she is at peace. It is still very hard to lose someone, so prayers are of course welcome.
Jaxon is very close to walking so we are going to buy him some new shoes this weekend. Daddy is on his way to Denver for an auction. We have our second football game this Saturday and hopefully we will have a better offensive show! Brik has done great at practice, so I expect him to have a good game. He is enjoying third grade, although it is a much heavier work load for him. Candice came home last weekend and came to our first football game, sadly we lost, but we all enjoyed having her home! Candice and Jenny both had their hair colored last weekend and they both look gorgeous. I will post more pictures later, time for more Tylenol, or is it Advil?

It's Football Season!

We are very busy with football, so I will update as often as I can. Brik is doing great in both school and football. Jaxon is getting very close to walking. I just got a promotion at work and will be training the next few weeks for it. Charlie is football, football & oh yeah, football. He is sleeping a little more, but is still working overtime to get the team ready for our first game. He and our other head coach Phil Hollis will have their work cut out for them tonight as this is the last practice before our first game. Jacque is doing crosswalk duty at school until the end of September. Candice will be home from college this weekend, so we are all looking forward to seeing her. Jenni is at home recovering from her surgery. The surgery went well and she is doing fine. She is still in a lot of pain, but Dana, Toney, & Jacque are doing a great job keeping her comfortable and helping her get around. She will probably go back to school on crutches on Tuesday 9/5.
Candice had her first class on Monday 8/28. She said it was long and the professor went pretty fast, but all in all ok. This is rush week and she is very busy. I think she is having fun adjusting to her new life. Jacque and Brik are doing well, and Jaxon gets bigger by the minute. My best friend Sherri Merchant just informed me that she and her family will be moving to Alabama in three weeks. They are looking for a slower pace of life and her husband Charlie has family there that they visit every year. More on this later when I get to spend some time with her. Jenni is having knee surgery on Thursday morning at 7:45. I will update everyone when she gets home. Jen, this is a little scary I know, but just think how great it will be after your recovery not to have the worry of your knee going out all the time. I know this was a hard decision for you, but I think you made the right one. They will give you great stuff right before the surgery, so try not to say anything embarassing, you know like "THICK AND SPICY"!! They won't get it. I love you, I am praying for a quick and full recovery and looking forward to watching you march in your senior year! I can't believe you went to work tonight, knowing you have surgery at 7:45 in the morning. That shows true dedication and strength of character. I feel so blessed to have young people in my life that still inspire me to do better in my own life. I'll see you after the surgery.

She has had a very full year. A very dramatic and hurtful move, tears & betrayals. Through all of that though, she has had Love, support, hard work, bonding with family & hopefully a new knowledge that she has several people on her side ready to fight for her! Candice is leaving today for college and we know she is nervous. Sweetie, you have worked very hard to get where you are. Not everyone could go through what you have and still manage to graduate High School with Honors a year early! You have an inner strength that will help you make all your dreams come true. Don't forget how strong you are. This will be difficult at times, but you've worked too hard to stop now. You have a wonderfull and bright future ahead of you and a family that loves you dearly. Remember that those who are not supportive, are not worthy of your attention or your tears. Anyone that truly loves you will support your decision to continue your education, your desire for a happy and full life, and will help you through the difficult times that may be ahead. Embrace your college life, your new friends and go into this with a positive attitude. I don't know ANYONE who regreted going to college, but I know MANY people who regret NOT going! I love you very much and I am just an email away if you need me!

It's So Hot!

They were very hot this day. Then again what day has not been hot? I can't believe how big my boys are getting. Brik is now tall enough to ride the Superman at Six Flags. He went down one of the tallest water slides at Hurricane Harbor, you know the one's us girls were never meant to ride! Jaxon will be one year old in just 2 months. It amazes me. I think we are having a birthday party for Dad this Sunday. He will be 60! Sorry Dad, now everyone knows.

Dad, you may not have been mistaken for Elvis while mowing the yard in while, but at least now you have enough money to have someone else mow the yard anyway. Not a bad trade. I think one indication of a great dad is how your adult children look at you. When I see you walk through my door or when I walk through yours I still feel comfort. Comfort, safety, love, respect, relief. I am 36 years old and I still feel like a child that no harm can come to when I am in your presense. I can only pray that my children will feel the same way about me when they are grown. Then I will know I did a good job.

We had a great time yesterday at the water park. Jaxon loves the water just like his big brother.
he was really cute.
Quick update on everyone:
Brik is getting ready for 3rd grade to start on Monday. We have a week off before football starts.

Jacque is getting ready for 6 th grade! Her last year in elementary school. She and Brik will be seperated after this year until high school. Brik gets very sad when we talk about it. He loves having Jacque in his school.

Jenni will be a junior, and made varsity marching band. Sadly she will have to wait until her senior year to march because she will be having knee surgery this year. Dana will give us more info on that in the near future. We will all be praying for a succesful surgery and a quick recovery. I plan on keeping her supplied with horror movies during recovery. (she loves them)

Candice is getting ready for her freshman year Midwestern State University. Mom and Dad will be driving her to Witchita Falls in a couple of weeks. This summer she attended an orientation there where she helped row her boat crew to a 1st place victory. I know she is going to miss everyone, but we are all really proud of her and know she has a great future in store.

We Won!

Our Team won last night 8 to 6. We are first place champions! Brik and Charlie are very excited to have won. I had to stay home, as Jaxon goes to bed before 8:00 pm and the game did not start until 8:30. I am very proud of all the boys! Brik was very tired this morning but happy! We are having an end of season party at the Bad Konigshoffen water park in Arlington on Saturday. Love to everyone.

My boys, Brik & Jaxon.

Brik is 8 years old and about to start the 3rd grade. His baseball team is playing for first place tonight at 8:30. His first football practice is 8/21. Last year they made it to the semi-finals. He is very busy of course.

Jaxon is almost 10 months old. He is pulling up and trying to make words. He showed his temper for the first time at his daycare yesterday! He was very upset that he did not get to go on the first buggy ride of the day. He went later but was not happy about having to wait.
